Sometimes I want to scrap with a kit but don’t have any photos yet, especially if it is for an upcoming holiday or family vacation! I can create and save a quick page to quickly and easily add my photos to later on. This is great if you know you have time now but that things might get kind of crazy as it gets closer to your vacation or a specific holiday.
If you have been wanting to learn how to do this, you have come to the right place! Today, I will walk you through the easy steps of how creating a quick page in Photoshop. Last week, I walked through the steps to do this in Photoshop Elements.
To get started, I’m going to start with a template. I’m using one from last June’s bundle and is part of my Scrap Club.
In place of photos, just use grey boxes for now or leave them grey like they are here in my template:
I’m going to use my new bundle “A Dash of Hope”:
It is also available in the Scrap Club to decorate the layout. I clip the papers and replace the elements and here is what I have so far:
As you can see, I’m adding the paper layers and other elements around the photo spots. Also, in this case, I added a shadow to the white paper layer under each photo, but I did not give the photo spots a shadow. I do this so that when the photos are added at the end, it will look like they each had a photo border. If your layout does not have photo borders, you can shadow your photo.
Here is my layout with everything done except for making the photo spots transparent:
Let’s take a look at my layers palette. All of my layers are still in tact, so I’m going to click on the bottom grey photo layer in my layer palette:
We’re going to start with the first photo layer by double clicking on it. This will open the layer style menu for that layer. Change the knockout setting from none to deep and slide the opacity down to zero:
Repeat for every photo spot and then save your layout as a png. This will preserve the transparency.
Now your layout is ready to add your photos.
And there you go! It’s ready to quickly add in your magical vacation photos! And if you want this quick page to use for your own scrapping, you will find it in my Resource Library!
Here is my quick page with photos added:
Whether you are scrapping wedding photos, prom photos or the latest princess photos at Disneyland, this quick page will be a quick and easy asset to your collection!
