If you read last week's blog post, "Let the Good Titles Roll", you may have thought to yourself, "great, now I know WHY a title is important, but HOW do I create a title that is interesting and fun and will fit with my layout?"
Today, I'm going to walk you through some tips for creating a clustered title.
I will be using this month's alpha to do it:
I'm going to use the wood alpha for this project.
First you start with your almost completed layout. You can add a title at any stage, but I prefer to do mine at the end.
Next, I determine my title which will be "Outdoors" for this example layout. I pull all the letters onto the paper:
Next, I'm going to clump them together and add shadows:
Now I'm going to add some ribbon behind it and maybe weave it through some of the letters:
It is a little rough here, so lets add in more elements around to give it more depth!
I could leave it at the bottom. The cluster makes it possible to stand on its own. Or I can make it a bit smaller and move it up. I'll place both below and you can leave a comment below of which way you prefer!
Give it a try and let me know what you think! There are endless ways to weave things around, tuck here and there and create a title that looks great on your layout!
