A question we get asked a lot, is “what if I don’t have a machine to cut the cutting files?”
The good news is that while a machine does make it a bit faster and easier, it isn’t necessary to still create fun projects with our products. I’m going to show you just how easy it can be! I will use the Woodland Cutting Files to demonstrate:
I’m going to cut out the fox. First I’ll open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat Pro, it looks like this:
Next, I will print it, using the “fit” option. Here it is right out of my printer on 8.5×11 cardstock:
Using scissors, I cut out each piece and began to layer them:
Here the little fox is all cut out and layered together. He could easily be glued together (or use glue dots on some spots to make it pop) and added to a card:
You could also change out the eyes for different types, like the little googly eyes!
If you have access to a program such as Adobe Illustrator, you can resize these pieces to any size you want. If you choose to go this route, be sure to resize all pieces at the same time, so that they stay proportionate!
You can also put each layer on different papers and have the shape print on patterned paper to mix and match. So many fun options!
