Looking for cute Valentine paper craft ideas? How about these cute sour cream containers? They get their name from the little sour cream packets that Wendy’s used to give out! I love how cute they are and how easy they are to put together! Whether you want to make them for your child’s school party or to make for your own friends, these make the perfect gift and treat! And to make it extra easy, I have a printable below for you to use!
When I was a little girl, I grew up in a very small town. Every Valentine’s Day, as it began to get dark, we would “kick Valentines” to all our neighbors. I don’t know if this was a common practice in the 70’s or just in our little town! The way it worked was that we would take little notes and little treats and leave them on the doorsteps of all our neighbors. The trick was to do it without getting caught! You would drop the treat, ring the doorbell and hide! And this was going on all over town, all at the same time!
When I look at this cute little craft, I can’t help but think how perfect it would be for that particular activity! It isn’t a tradition here and now and not one my children have grown up with. I wonder what the neighborhood would think if we just all of a sudden started kicking valentines at their doors! What is your favorite Valentine memory?
So let me show you how to make these cute little candy holders!! This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience (which means if you make a purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission but it won’t cost you a penny more)! Read my full disclosure policy!

Here are the items you’ll need to gather and have ready to put this craft together:
Scissors: Use scissors to quickly cut them out.
Glue gun: I used a glue gun to put them together.
Hole punch: Have a hole punch to attach the heart and tag at the top.
Candy: I used Hugs and Kisses to fill mine.
Jute: You can use ribbon or Jute or string. Here is the Jute that I used.
Now it’s time to put together!
First step is to place a long strip of glue on one side and glue together to make a long cone:
Second step is to squeeze the bottom together and use glue to hold in place:
The third step is to fill with candy.
The next step is to turn it halfway over and squeeze and glue again. This gives it the sour cream packet look.
Now punch a hole in one end of the packet, tag and circle heart:
Last step is to tie it all together with the jute in a little bow and give away!
Now it’s your turn!
