Throwing parties for my kids has always been a favorite! But it isn’t always easy to find cute, fun and affordable ideas. I made this set and love how it turned out! My next project will be a girl version of this because Every Girl is a Superhero too! With all the fun movies and things out there, I wanted to have a set of party prints that would make it easy to throw the party of the year!
When planning a birthday party, it’s important to have a few activities. Boys love to punch and pop things!
Here are just a few ideas that you could use for your party:
- Smash Box-Take a large piece of poster board and cut out circles. Behind each circle place a lunch sack with a small prize. Then cover the circle with tissue paper. Let me take turns punching a circle.
- Pop the Bombs-Fill a bunch of black balloons with a small prize. Fill up a laundry basket with the “bombs” and let the boys take turns popping the balloons to get the prize.
- Pin the mask on the Superhero-I love pin games. Depending on the age of the kids, this is a winner every time! Print or buy a large superhero and a mask for each child.
Traditional Games with a Twist (these don’t require any preparation)
- Superman, Superman, Batman (instead of duck, duck, goose let them use superhero names instead)
- Steal the Kryptonite (instead of steal the flag)
- Freeze Tag (must freeze in a Superhero pose)
Once you have your games chosen and planned, it’s time to send out the invitations. Included in the free printables, here is an invitation you can use. Print and fill out or you can open in photoshop and fill out before printing. This is a 4×6 size so its easy to find envelopes for.
Other things to consider for the party:
Do you want a banner?
What do you want it to say? Here is an example using the banner pieces in this free kit:
I left two banner pieces blank so you can write in letters, you can use a photo editing program to add letters or you can buy letters in red, blue, yellow, etc. and stick them on. Use the other banner pieces to accent the banner!
What about food and drinks?
If you are going to serve any food whether it is just cupcakes or treats or a whole buffet, the different food labels, soda/water labels and food tents will be a great asset to sprucing up your table! You can add little circles to the bottom of kisses, or add a cute flag to a straw. Here are a few examples:
And every party with children should include popcorn! Check out this cute popcorn box that is easy to assemble and perfect for little hands:
After the party has passed and the games have been played and the food has been eaten and the gifts have been opened, you can send your party attendees these cute little thank you cards. What a great way to teach your child early the importance of gratitude. There is plenty of space for them to fill out their own message and sign their names!
What better way to end a party than this cute Thank You Note:
