I can’t believe it is already October! Halloween is a pretty big deal at our house! My kids love it. I love it. And my 12 year old son with Autism lives all year for this holiday! So having a way to countdown each day is a fun way to look forward to the end of the month! So I created an easy Halloween Countdown Craft using my digi supplies!
My board is one I created a few years ago, but our cards were getting a little bent and photo so I decided to create new cards using this digital Halloween kit:
I’ll give basic instructions for how I created them both.
I took a canvas and using Mod Podge, I used newspaper to cover the whole canvas. I let it dry and then applied one more coat. I also added some black paint to the edges with a sponge brush.
After it was fully dry, I hot glued ribbon zig zagged across so I could clip the little cards to it.
I also used the newspaper to cut out a bunch of simple flowers, stiffened them with the Mod Podge and layered them. I added paint to the edges with a sponge brush and glued it in the corner. Once dry, I added a button and ribbon.
To create the cards, I made them 2 inches by 2.5 inches. I created a new screen at that size in my photo editing software. I added papers to each one and the different shapes and elements, as well as numbers. You can decorate these as simply are as complex as you want:
After creating them, I printed and cut them out and here is what they looked like (lighting was a little off, but they really do match the colors you see above!)
Each morning, my kids find the card that matches the day and using tiny clothespins, they hang them up! They love it and it was so easy!
If you want to skip a few steps, you can download the printable cards in my Resource Library. They are free!
