About half of my scrapping is in the pocket style and the other half is more traditional. Either way, I LOVE using Journal Cards. They seem to add so much to the storytelling without me having to have more photos. They also help with building clusters and adding layers and depth to a layout. If you love to scrap with Journal Cards, imagine what it would be like to easily create your own to match whatever kit you are working with? Journal Card templates are a great resource to have in your scrapbook took box! And I even made you a set you can download for FREE! You can find them at the bottom of this post!
With templates, you can create endless options of Journal cards. Use them with any kit, use them as a starting point and then make it your own or even mix and match them to create even more options! Easy to use, just like any template and then you can add them to your pocket pages or regular layouts. I will walk you through how simple it is!
Start off by opening a journal card template you want to use:
Next, choose the kit you want to use. I used our Birthday kit for this card and layout.
Then I added the layers I wanted, took off the banner at the top and then you can either leave it with no shadows or add shadows. Check out the FREE set of Card Templates I have in my Resource Library:
I made you a set of your own Journal Card templates! You can download them and use them for your own pages:
Now it is ready to be used for your layout! Here is how I scrapped it for this birthday layout of my 15 year old's special day:
And that's it! Now it's time to see what you can do! I'd love for you to scrap with them and share your layout here in the comments or come post it on our Facebook page!
