Being able to upload your layout to Instagram is a great way to share your work with others! But unless you are scrapping your layout on your phone, it may seem a little difficult to get that layout from your computer to your phone so you can upload.
As you may know with Instagram, you can’t upload a photo from your main computer. It only works with phones. So here are the quick and easy steps to get it to your phone to upload!
First, if you upload your layouts to a store’s gallery (like The DigiChick) or on Facebook, find a recent layout there. Use your phone to find it and pull it up.
Next, you’re going to take a screen shot of it with your phone. Here is what mine looked like after taking the screen shot.
(to take a screen shot with your phone varies from phone to phone. I use a samsung, and for me it was a matter of holding the power key and home page key at the same time until it took the picture. It was the same with the LG. Iphones may be different. You can always google your phone if this method doesn’t work.)
Taking this screen shot sends the image to your gallery on your phone. So now you can open up Instagram and click the plus button at the bottom. It will most likely be one of your options:
Now you can center it into your box to clip. The nice thing about layouts is they are almost always square and easy to fit there. Click Next.
This will bring up the different filters. I don’t filter my layouts so I just click Next and then type in my description!
Easy! Don’t forget your hashtags! You can use the hashtag #thedigicrafter for any layouts you want to share with us!
