What is DigiCrafting?
Is this even a thing? Maybe you stumbled upon my blog and wondered, what in the world is The DigiCrafter.
I am a digital designer. I love to create fun things in Illustrator and Photoshop. I’ve spent several years designing and selling those designs primarily for the digital scrapbook market. But over the past year, I’ve been expanding that into other projects, mostly paper projects!
I can create things on the computer that can then be printed, cut, glued, etc. I’ve always loved crafting and this just expands the types of projects I can do while also cutting down on the time.
Crafting, of course, is all the fun things we love to do with our hands.
From homemade cards to party supplies to banners and home decor. Crafting gives us the ability to stamp our personality on to these day to day things. It is more personal and a bit more fun, than just buying the counterparts at the store! It sends an extra touch of love to anyone we pass these things on to.
When you combine the two, you get projects that feel homemade but with lots more ease and selection!
Think about it, you can hand cut out a banner, using a template, as well as cutting each individual letter for the banner pieces. Then you can glue the letters onto the banner, piece the banner together and hang it. Or you can buy an editable banner, quickly make the letter changes in Adobe Acrobat (free program) and print. You only need to cut along the lines, piece together and you have a banner that looks just as homemade as if you had done it all yourself!
And I have projects for every comfort level!
If you want to piece together our things and create a project from scratch, you can. If you want to print something mostly put together and cut out with a pair of scissors, that works. If you have a cutting machine and want to print and cut and then assemble, these products will work for that as well! It really is the best of both worlds and doesn’t leave anyone out!
Starting this October, I will be holding monthly Craft Boutique’s on Facebook so watch for more information on that!
I’ll also be starting a video series called, “crafts so easy even your hubby can do them.” My very own sweet husband has agreed to help demonstrate! Each week we’ll walk through the steps of a new craft! Tune in for a few laughs and some great ideas for your holiday and home decor!
So, pull out your scissors and rev up your printer! We are going to have lots of fun combining the precision of digital with the art of crafting!
